Thematic Working Areas

The work of Mankon Foundation involves four main areas (culture, health, education, and development), the objectives of which are below:

Culture

• Document and preserve the culture and the language of Mankon as a primary medium of interpretation by the people;
• Support activities that develop and promote the language and culture; and
• Seek to care for the heritage and ensure transfer of knowledge between and amongst generations and peoples.

Health

• Promote healthy lifestyles and social well-being; e.g. through campaigns;
• Support development of health infrastructure; e.g. by forming partnerships, facilitation of access to health facilities;
• Encourage proven traditional and natural forms of healing.

Education

• Encourage traditional, informal and formal methods of education;
• Engage the young in education on Mankon, and to foster quality public education issues.

Development

• Promote community building, the spirit of social entrepreneurship, and the development of the people;
• Support infrastructural development and cultural and ecological sustainability.
