Mankon Forum Scholarship 2009/2010 Communique

MFSI and its members have officially launched the 2009/2010 edition of the scholarship.  In 2008, we succeeded in recruiting 10 fine scholars into our scholarship program. This year, we aim to add another 10 to the 2008 scholars class.

Results of 2008 MFSI Scholarships

Members of the Mankon Forum scholarship Initiative (MFSI) and its board of directors are today presented the list of Scholarship Recipients for the 2008 application season. As a recap, MFSI offers TEN (10) scholarships with each class.  The scholarship covers tuition, essential textbooks and part uniforms depending on the availability of funds. 50.000 FCFA is estimated for each student a year. The goal is to sponsor recipients in government secondary grammar schools until the GCE O-levels contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and keeping up with eligibility criteria.

Fon Angwafor III, during his expedition in 2002, visited the City halls in Worcester to Lowell and to State House in Boston, where he told the honourable Mayors, City Managers and City Councillors and Governors that he came to see where his children and subjects reside, school and work.

Fon Angwafor’s visit to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as a traditional ruler from Cameroon in particular, and Africa in general, is unprecedented.A traditional ruler and an elderly statesman, Fon Angwafor’s arrival in the “New World,” was greeted with much exhilaration, as his eloquence and intelligence echoed from the City halls to the streets of America.
